We are seeking a Drop Bury Field Assistant to join our team in St Louis, MO . In this role you will assist all our regional field crews and leaders in a variety of ways: supporting safe work practices, validating job quality, delivering supplies and materials and more.

The Role

  • Ensures drop bury crews are property trained and educated on all functions of cable, fiber, safety and damage prevention

  • Performs quality control over current and completed drop bury jobs

  • Oversees and trains crews to properly terminate coax and fiber lines

  • Trains and participates in ride outs with all new crew members

  • Ensures all required tools and equipment are available

  • Performs fiber drop splicing and training

  • Resolves and troubleshoots issues

  • Performs truck inspections for cleanliness and professional appearance

  • Connects face-to-face with customers; consulting, assisting and educating

  • Prioritizes, organizes and efficiently completes tasks to meet deadlines

  • Works independently

  • Works in a variety of environments; indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, elevated

  • Navigates a variety of terrains managing tools and equipment

  • Strives to provide the best customer experience every day

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in telecommunications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude, ability to utilize hand tools for intended purposes

  • Ability to travel daily, sometimes overnight, and open to a variety of schedules

  • Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to learn and operate testing equipment and software/programs

  • Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color and accurately utilize measuring devices

  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)

  • Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time

  • Ability to safely navigate various terrains, managing equipment and tools

  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role

  • Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus

  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
